#2 - March 2, 2026: The earthwork subcontractor is near completion; the've completed installing and tying into existing water, storm and sewer utilities. Last week, we started concrete work, pouring the green room slab. This week - prepping to pour concrete foundations for the stairs around the band shell. The month of March will mainly consist of concrete prep & installation along with the installation of other necessary utilities - Plumbing & Electrical.
#1 - January 8, 2026: The site has been graded/prepped to rough subgrade. About 75% of the existing foundation demo has been completed. The earthwork sub will finish foundation demo next week. Underground utility materials (Manholes and water/sewer/storm pipe) to be installed before the end of January. Longer lead items like the band shell have also been ordered.
R&R Taylor Construction, Inc., Bozeman, MT, has been selected as the general contractor for Sheepherder Square Phase 2 construction.
Construction on Phase 2 started on December 8, 2025, and will finish in the fall of 2026. Check our Facebook and Instagram pages for photos and updates.
We have raised $1.6M towards the $2M needed for this phase of the project. Phase 2 includes splash pad, turf, bandshell and all plantings.
Future phases will include the amenities building and restrooms and other amenities and features as funding allows.
