Sheepherder Square is a dynamic gathering space in the heart of Big Timber that stimulates economic prosperity, establishes Big Timber as a destination for arts, culture, history and entertainment. The Square enhances the quality of life for all ages and enriches the fabric of our community.

WE MADE IT! October 2, 2026, was an AMAZING day! After years of work and months of construction, Sheepherder Square is OPEN! The operational equipment for the Splash Pad is on the way, there a few punch list items left to complete, but WE ARE OPEN and hosted our FIRST EVENT on October 3!

Construction on Phase 2 was substantially completed on October 2, 2026. Check our Facebook and Instagram pages for photos and updates.
We have raised $1.7M towards the $2M needed for this phase of the project. Phase 2 included Splash Pad, turf, bandshell and all plantings.
Future phases will include the amenities building and restrooms and other amenities and features as funding allows.
